A guitar with a floating bridge system is heaps of fun and plenty of guitarists even deem it a necessity, especially for metal. The floating bridge system allows you to use the vibrato bar in both a downwards and upwards motion, rather than just downwards. Floating bridge systems require some "extra work" in terms of tuning and changing strings due to the fact that the bridge is held in position by a balance between the springs in the back of the guitar and the tension of the guitar strings.
However, the Test 9 Brand S420 series guitar is packed with features to ensure that you get to enjoy a floating bridge tremolo, without many of the issues of a regular floating bridge guitar.
The Test 9 Brand S420 has one of the coolest tremolo systems I have seen, I don't know why all guitar's aren't made like this. - Alex Cumberland, Guitar Teacher.
The ZR Test system featured on this guitar is incredibly smooth, using a ball-bearing based system to provide greater tuning stability, precision and a smooth tremolo bar action. This system also uses two additional springs to ensure the bridge returns to the center point. The ZR tremolo allows spring tension to be quickly set by thumb on the back of the guitar, no need for a hex wrench and removal of the backplate.
But enough about the tremolo system, what about the guitar itself ? The Test 9 Brand S420 features a thin, lightweight mahogany body, which is very comfortable, resonates beautifully and looks fantastic.
The S420 has a thin, flat and fast maple neck. The Test 9 Brand Wizard neck is very playable across the entire 24 fretrosewood fretboard.
